63rd Graduation Ceremony- Congratulations to our CEES graduands

Congratulations to our CEES students who graduated at the 63rd Graduation Ceremony held from Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th January 2013. Students of the College of Education and External Studies graduated on Wednesday 23rd Jan for the Bachelor of Commerce External degree and Thursday 24th Jan for all other programmes.

It is a bright sunny afternoon on Tuesday, 11th December 2012 at the Makerere University Hospital and a few hours away from the official launch of the Safe Male Circumcision (SMC) services by the U.S. Ambassador to Uganda H.E. Scott DeLisi.

Department of Open and Distance Learning hosts visiting Associate Professors

The Department of Open and Distance Learning has been host to visiting academics Dr. Kathy Lynch from the University of Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia and Dr Dick Ng’ambi from the University of Cape Town during October. Dr. Kathy Lynch Whilst at Makerere University, Dr Lynch delivered a public lecture on “Higher education learning and teaching in the 21st century: Embracing blended learning”.


CLL receives visitors from the Golden Key International Honour Society (GKIHS)

From November 19 – 20, the Chairman Board of Directors of the GKIHS Dr. Derek Swemmer and the GKIHS South African Regional Director Ms. Charlene Gunter were in Uganda on a fact finding mission to Makerere University. The visit follows an application Dr. Willy Ngaka, the National Coordinator, Centre for Lifelong Learning made to the management of the GKIHS to start a chapter that will serve the students of Makerere University irrespective of their disciplines.

DSTVE hosts delegation from VAAL University of Technology

The Chair, Department of Science, Technology and Vocational Education, Dr Henry Busulwa met with a senior delegation from Vaal University of Technology (VUT), South Africa, on November 23rd. The two member delegation comprised the DVC Governance and Operations Prof. Gordon Zide and Principal Ekurhuleni Campus Prof. Peter H. Omara-Ojungu. According to Prof. Gordon Zide, his delegation’s visit was intended to explore prospects for partnership and collaboration with Makerere University.
