Principle CEES Led a team from CEES to Kenya

The College Principal, Prof. F. Masagazi-Masaazi led a team from CEES to the official Launch Ceremony of Pedagogical Leadership in Africa (Pedal). The team from CEES include Dr Sikoyo Leah and Dr. Kabugo David. The two will participate in the inception workshop for Padel for one week

The first Love Binti Training group graduates

On Saturday 28th July, 2018 the Department of Adult and Community Education conducted the first graduation of its Love Binti Project Trainees. A total of forty students were admitted for the June/July intake and a total of thirty-seven participants successfully completed the training leading to the award of Love Binti Certificate of Qualification.  The participants were drawn from a variety of walks of life intended to increase the impact of Love Binti Project activities.

Assoc Prof. Paul Birevu Muyinda the Deputy Principal MAkCEES in Arusha

 

on 12th July 2018, Associate Professor Paul Birevu Muyinda, Deputy Principal MakCEES was in Arusha. He was attending the second Meeting of the EPICA Project Cordinators.

Makerere University, OUT and Maseno University were sharing progress reports for the first 6 months of the project and planning the next 6 months.

Mr. Richard Kajumbula trains staff at the University of Rwanda in Kigali

The capacity that has been developed at Makerere University, College of Education and External Studies in transformative pedagogy is quite enormous.  Mr. Richard Kajumbula was at the University of Rwanda in Kigali on 12th July 2018 training University staff in Blended Learning pedagogy. Mr. Richard Kajumbula is from the Institute of Open Distance and eLearning, Makerere University.

MAKCEES holds the First International Conference on Open, Distance and E-learning Makerere University

College of Education and External Studies through its School of Distance and Lifelong learning, Institute of Open Distance and eLearning on the 9th to 10th July 2018 hosted its first international conference on Open Distance and E-learning in Makerere university main hall. It was a two days conference which was officially opened on Monday, 9th July 2017 by Dr. Eria Hisali, the Principal, College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS) on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe.

Pre-conference Workshop on ePortifolio Assessment

Pre-conference Workshop on ePortifolio Assessment. 1st International Conference on Open Distance and E-learning at Makerere University.  Conference will take place on 9th and 10th July 2018 at Mak Main Hall.

The Pre-conference event is took place on Friday 6th July 2018 at Makerere University Lira Center. The Entire Fraternity is invited to the Conference on Monday at the Main Hall starting 8am.

MAKCEES Prof. Fred Masagazi-Masaazi led a team from University of Agder to Makerere VC Prof.Barnabas Nawangwe.

Today 5th July 2018, the Principal CEES, Prof. Fred Masagazi-Masaazi led a team from University of Agder headed by Rector Prof. Frank Reikert to pay a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor, Makerere University Prof.Barnabas Nawangwe.

The delegation is here to participate in the 1st International Conference on ODeL taking place on 9th and 10th July 2018. The team is also going to give public lectures on assessment and lifelong learning at CEES LIRA Center 2moro Friday 6th July 2018.

Makcees Love-Binti headway

The three weeks based curriculum to train students has kicked with a great preference. More than forty students have so far enrolled but the project can only take in forty trainees for the purposes of better learning environment. The enrollers have been divided in four cohorts. Cohort 1 runs Monday to Wednesday 9:00-1:00pm, cohort 2 runs Monday to Wednesday 2:00-5:00pm, cohort  3 runs Thursday to Saturday 9:00-1:00pm and cohort 4 runs Thursday  to Saturday 2:00-5:00pm. Each cohort holds ten participants.

MAKCEES launches Love-Binti project

CEES through the Department of Adult and Community Education, School of Distance and LIFELONG learning has entered into a partnership with an NGO from Taiwan, LOVE-Binti International to roll out the implementation of a reusable sanitary pads project in Makerere University and the surrounding communities. Different delegates attended the launch of this project which was on the 12th June 2018.

MAK-CEES Management solves Lira Study Centre challenges

On 13th December 2017, the College Management team visited Makerere University, Lira Study Centre in Lira District for a fact finding mission. The Team   was led by the College Principal Prof. Fred Masagazi-Masaazi.
